Sunday August 1st - Morning walk

Went for a morning walk along the lake in the
Okan agan. Watched the sun rise, have not done that in a while - probably since the day Jack passed away. It was beautiful.

Wednesday July 28th - Mom and Dad's bed

When I was little I loved crawling into mom and dad's bed and Owen is no different :) He loves getting in there in the mornings and sometimes he plays and sometimes he falls asleep. I have some of Jack's things on the wall and on my nightstand beside the bed so I love getting a photo of the both of them.

Tuesday July 27th - Why I love living here

I just love walking through all the trails and being able to walk and get away from all the traffic and people etc.

Monday July 26th - Summer flowers

There are so many gorgeous things blooming right now, I have to stop on my walk a few times just to smell the flowers. These remind me of going to visit Ben in Whistler when we first started dating. I would walk from the highway down to the ferry terminal and there is a few huge bushes of these and I would pick a few and take them with me. We planted one in Jack's garden in the front of our house.

Sunday July 25th - Full Moon

There was an amazing full moon and I just could not figure out how to get a good photo of it. I will have to read up on this and try again next time....

Saturday July 24th - Wedding time!

After a long night at the hospital after we were afraid Owen might have taken a few of my Ty lenols we had a wedding to go to. It was great to have a little break and see all of our friends. I wish I had a few more hours sleep :)

Friday July 23rd - Long Day

Long day today, I planned too many things and then the day ended up with a trip to the Dr. with Owen. I am not sure if I even took any photos but I will find something to remember this day by and post it ....

Thursday July 22nd - Dragonfly's!

There are so many Dragonfly's everywhere right now, it is amazing. In the yard, buzzing around when I go for a walk, I love them! There is one in the bottom of this photo - they are hard to catch on camera, I am hoping to get a good photo by the end of the summer of one!

Wednesday July 21st - New toy

My husband bought me a new Mac ro lens adapter and I am very excited to try it out - this is just a sample!

Tuesday July 20th - Whale watching, 8 months later

Today Jack has been gone for 8 months - I still can not believe it. It still seems surreal sometimes. I miss him everyday. Today Shannon and I saw a whale and I followed it along the beach for a few hours - it was a magical afternoon.

Monday July 19th - Swimming in the Ocean!

Owen took his first real swim in the ocean today - well he hung on to me but we were out over his head and he was not even that scared. I hope he swims like me instead of his dad... lol

Sunday July 18th - more time out on the water!

We had some bait left so we went out on the water again on Sunday - such a good time and we really packed in the activities this weekend, it was busy busy!

Saturday July 17 - Fishing Fishing!

Owen had a big day of fishing today - Fishing Derby followed by fishing with Dad and Grandpa. I went for my first ocean swim this year under the moon and the stars tonight.

We celebrated in Vancouver with a fun day and a good meal in English Bay.

Wednesday July 14th - Our Anniversary #1

14 years ago today Ben and I started our life together.
Tonight we drove up to three different beaches trying for a whale sighting. As the sun went down we gave up and threw rocks in the water.

Wormy log at the beach - I almost thought I did not take a photo today, but I did! Three camera's can get a bit confusing to remember the dates but at least everyone was late and Owen was playing in the sand at Porpoise Bay and I took a photo of this log :)

Wow - tomorrow is 8 months since Jack was born, I better get a special photo. We bought ourselves a little treat - a old pull behind trailer for future camping adventures, we are very excited!

Monday July 5th

Tonight we went out picking up some work right by the cemetery and we ordered a pizza and decided to have a little picnic. We have never done this before but it was nice for me just to have the time to sit there and not have to run off and do something. I went to visit our friends grave and looked back and saw these two wrestling on the grass - Owen loves jumping on us while we are lying down .. ouch, but Ben is a good sport about it. Jack`s grave needs some serious work, I am getting closer to ordering a headstone - soon I think.

July 4th

Happy July 4th!

This does not look like much but I was laying on a kids slide at the park looking at the sky and it looked really beautiful. So peaceful - until the kids started fighting. LOL.

Honeysuckle. I remember eating these when we were kids and I still really want to find a really nice smelling one for my garden.

I did not take many photos this weekend. I did see many pretty flowers though, especially on my walks. It looks like the nice weather is finally here.

Out in the garden I saw a few friends today. I handsome blue Dragonfly and this little princess. Dragonflies are very hard to photograph, they never sit still! Reminded me of Owen...

I saw a Grey Whale off the beach today, it was so beautiful and peaceful.

I have not had any fresh flowers in the house for a while and decided to buy these gorgeous Lilly`s for Jacks spot.

I love when we can start eating stuff out of the garden and this week has been the first week of this so we are very happy! I guess the potatoes like all the bad weather we have been having :)

Wednesday June 23rd - The view from here

When I went to the Dr. today I have lost five pounds and it my partly my 5K walks I have been taking three times a week. I am always happy when I get to this part of my walk, it is such a great view. One day I am hoping to see a whale or a dolphin out there.

Monday June 21st - The First Day of Summer!

I thought about this a lot today, but I just did not have a lot of inspiration to take a really good photo! I felt like it was a lot of pressure - the first photo. I got some good ones yesterday from our Fathers Day fishing trip, but that was yesterday and not today!

Haha .. I am just writing this and my amazing husband brought me something to take photos of! These are definitely something that brightens the day and perfect for the first day of summer.

Summer 2010

Starting on Monday June 21st I am going to start this new blog - sort of a days of summer blog, and when it is finished I am going to print it to make a book for me to remember this summer. This summer will be hard for me, just as the past 7 months have been becuase I am feeling like I am waiting to get pregnant and at the same time grieving my little guy and what has happened to us. I am going to find something gorgeous, beautiful or just plain cute (Owen) to make me smile everyday and post it here. I need to start looking at all the beauty out there - and taking the time to capture it!
